If you’ve lucked out and found the perfect spot on the beach for your next party, you’ve likely already got an exciting vision in mind. But when there’s so much to prepare, it can be hard to know exactly where to begin, and which of your many plans are best for bringing this dream event to life. To help, we’ve compiled a list of a few top tips for throwing the perfect beach party.
Consider your seating areas
If you’re going to be at the beach in hot weather, it’s important to make sure that you have shaded seating areas for your guests to rest and recuperate out of the harsh rays of the sun, to ensure a safe experience. If you’re not guaranteed hot weather, a sheltered area is still wise, so that your guests have somewhere to gather should the temperature drop, or if it starts to rain.
You may want to consider making your covered seating area a more formal spot, where guests can store their belongings, or refuel with drinks and snacks. This is best achieved with plenty of tables and chairs and perhaps some comfortable outdoor sofas to lounge.
For a truly laid back, beachy experience, you’ll want to make your open, uncovered areas of the beach your focal point for your party. To make it look enticing, you could layer fun printed beach towels around on the sand, as well as plenty of sun loungers.
Stock up on drinks and snacks
A long day at the beach has a way of working up an appetite, so it’s important that you’re fully stocked with refreshments. You’ll want to make sure that you have all the usual seaside favourites, like slices of fruit and sweet, cold treats – a designated spot for an ice cream stand is a fun and unique way to incorporate this.
Of course, you’ll want to keep the drinks flowing at your beach party, so it’s best to stock up on everybody’s favourites beforehand. Ice cold slushies, both with and without alcohol, are a great way of keeping your guests hydrated and cool in hot temperatures. Plenty of water is an absolute must, so you’ll want to have plenty of bottles should anyone get thirsty.
Don’t forget to think about how you’re going to keep your drinks and food cold and fresh. You may want to consider hosting your party close to an indoor venue at which you can store your food, or alternatively, consider hiring event staff as an option.
Choose great entertainment
You may be thinking, “what more do I need than the sun and sea?” But in fact, treating your guests to entertainment can be a wonderful way to break up the day, and may allow you a few moments of peace as the host.
While your phone and speaker may suffice, hiring live music entertainment to perform at your beach party is sure to impress your guests. Plus, they can play plenty of summer tracks that will make great background music for lounging in the sun or huddling around a campfire in the evening.
Besides this, a live performance is bound to sound better on the beach – it can be a little hard to hear music coming through a speaker in such an open area, and over the sound of crashing waves.
Take it easy!
The whole purpose of hosting your party on the beach over any other entertainment space is to keep everybody feeling relaxed and carefree – and being in such a beautiful, natural setting, this is easily achieved. With plenty of natural wonders to explore, there’s lots to see and do at the beach. So, once you’ve run through our top tips and planned a few essentials, the rest is likely to take care of itself!
